Welcome to Episode 01 of In Defense of Lost Causes.  This week: Kelly Clarkson and Soulja Boy as Monkeys At Typewriters We are two writers, superfans and students of music criticism from Philadelphia (now based in Portland, Oregon) who wanted a forum to discuss why certain songs, genres and performers were popular and why others were critically lauded (and why the twain so rarely meet). We started a (hopefully biweekly) podcast, In Defense Of Lost Causes, to discuss why certain artists get the cred and why others get the cash.
